How to Finding the right Aluminum Floor Jack?

Finding the right aluminum floor jack for the job is very important. When choosing a car best floor jack, there are a number of features to consider.

Safety of the Unit

Regarding the safety issue, whatever jack you get, be sure to read all the safety precautions and proper use instructions. You won’t be sorry that you did, but you might if you don’t.  The ideas presented here are not intended as a substitute for reading and following the instructions in the owners manual.

You want to be sure you have a jack that is capable of lifting your vehicle without it falling! It looks like most of them run from ½ ton capacity and on up.

Look for the units that meet proper safety standards and look into the quality of its build.

Other Things to Consider

Beyond the safety issues, you want something that’s going to work to take a look at the warranty offered. And if storage room is a major limitation for you, you will find that many units are designed not to take up much space. And if you don’t use it often there are some that can be disassembled to put away.

Here are some I’ve found recently all the way from the base models on up to the heavy duty jacks.

Aluminum Racing Jack – 2-ton capacity (SPX 1532 OTC)

Great for low sitting, high-performance cars. This thing only weights forty-three pounds. Lifts 2 tons and weighs only 43 lbs! It lifts two tons up to eighteen inches. The billet aluminum which is aircraft grade is the combination that makes this work. If this isn’t enough it impressed me that it meets safety requirements and has the OTC’s lifetime warranty behind it.

Aluminum Racing Jack – 3000 lb capacity and lightweight

If you don’t need to lift 2 tons, this one will lift up to three thousand pounds to nearly 15 inches off the ground. Again, this one is made of the aircraft billet aluminum material. The handle is also aluminum and is made as 2 piece knurl to keep your hands from slipping.

1.5 Ton Aluminum Racing Jack – Torins

Some key features of this car jack include a saddle that completely rotates around, double grip hands that make moving it into position a snap, and a rubber pad to keep from scratching anything. If you haven’t got much room to store your jack, this one is designed to make that a bit easier.

Aluminum Jack and Jack Stand Combo

This one is made of lightweight aircraft aluminum and can lift 4,000 lbs to just over 15 inches. To keep it from rusting, the jack stand is anodized. You can take this apart if you need to for easier storage.
